What the mandate covers
Arka Media Works has appointed Dream Theatre as the exclusive licensing and merchandising partner for Baahubali in India. Dream Theatre will also work as a strategic partner for international licensing, sponsorships, brand associations, promotions and co-branded projects. The announced scope reaches beyond the original live-action films to both parts of Baahubali: The Eternal War, the CGI animated expansion directed by Ishan Shukla. Apparel, collectibles, figures, bags, stationery, publishing, gaming and physical experiences are all named as possible categories. That breadth defines what the agency may pursue, but it should not be mistaken for a slate of finished products.
Why The Eternal War matters to the deal
The partnership arrives as Baahubali is being extended through two animated films, giving the licensing program new designs, characters and story material that can support products beyond a conventional movie tie-in. Arka Media Works and Dream Theatre describe animation as a route into new experiences and audiences. For fans, the practical change is that one specialist now has responsibility for recruiting licensees and coordinating how the brand appears in India. Internationally, Dream Theatre's role is described as strategic rather than exclusive, so the announcement does not establish a single global gatekeeper or a complete territorial plan.
What is still missing
No manufacturer, publisher, game studio, retailer or experience operator is named in the announcement. There are also no product images, prices, production quantities, launch windows or country-by-country commitments outside India. Those omissions matter because a licensing agreement is an enabling structure: Dream Theatre can solicit and manage partners, but each partner still has to sign, design, manufacture and distribute something. The next useful update will therefore be the first named licensees and their concrete products, followed by retail dates and territories. Until then, the deal signals a coordinated expansion of Baahubali merchandise rather than immediate new access for collectors.
