The four changes

Bandai’s English restriction notice adds four cards to the competitive list effective September 1, 2026. BT15-003 Nyaromon is banned completely, meaning no copy can be included in an official tournament deck. EX1-066 Analog Youth, EX8-012 Growlmon (X Antibody) and BT14-033 Patamon are each restricted to one copy instead of the normal maximum of four.

The effective date matters as much as the announcement date. Players preparing for September events must replace up to four cards in a list built around Nyaromon and as many as three copies of each newly restricted card. Casual groups can choose their own house rules, but the owner notice governs official play.

Why Bandai says the cards were hit

Nyaromon’s attack effect can trade a security card for memory while also enabling benefits tied to self-trashing security. Bandai says that combination accelerates games and narrows future yellow and security-card design. The publisher considered a one-copy restriction inadequate because a Digi-Egg can be accessed predictably, so it chose a full ban.

Analog Youth is described as an overly general stability engine, especially for decks that delete their own Digimon. Growlmon (X Antibody) concentrates too many tools needed by trash-focused strategies, reducing card diversity. Patamon can enable low-effort evolution into large Digimon and repeatedly reward security manipulation, which Bandai says constrains future Vaccine and security designs.

What players should expect next

The announcement establishes the legal deckbuilding limit, not the eventual metagame. Angel, Gallantmon, purple-trash and other affected strategies may adapt, fall away or discover replacements. Those outcomes require tournament evidence after September 1 rather than predictions based only on the list.

Players should verify the exact card numbers because differently illustrated cards with the same number remain subject to the restriction. Updated event documents and deck-check tools will show how quickly organizers adopt the change, while later Bandai notices can remove cards if the competitive environment changes.
