What Hololive has confirmed
Hololive Production has started its first television-anime project as part of the year-long approach to its tenth anniversary in September 2027. Studio KAI will handle the animation. The company says the studio already understands Hololive's performers and world through its work on official animations and music videos, a relationship that gives the project continuity with the agency's existing visual output even as it enters a different distribution format. Hololive has also opened dedicated OdeHolo social and YouTube channels rather than treating the anime as a one-off segment inside its regular news program.
Why OdeHolo is still a placeholder
The announcement deliberately withholds the story, visual and meaning of the OdeHolo shorthand. Those details are scheduled for a one-hour reveal stream on September 23 hosted by Fubuki Shirakami and Mio Ookami, with Nene Momosuzu, Polka Omaru, Lamy Yukihana and Botan Shishiro appearing. Their presence establishes which talents will introduce the project, but it does not yet prove the final cast or whether the anime will use fictionalized versions of performers, an original ensemble, short episodes or a conventional full-length series. The honest state today is a confirmed television project with a named studio, not a fully described show.
The access questions that matter next
Hololive operates across Japan, North America and Southeast Asia, so the absence of a broadcaster and international platform is especially important. A Japanese television slot would not by itself establish subtitles, overseas streaming or participation by every regional branch. Episode length, production schedule and premiere timing will also determine whether this is an anniversary centerpiece or a smaller companion to the agency's streams, concerts and games.
