What Amazon has committed to
Prime Video plans to release Please Save My Earth exclusively in more than 240 countries and regions in fall 2027. Alice Hirose will play Mokuren, one of the alien researchers whose memories shape the present-day story, while Takahiro Miki directs and Nana Yamamoto writes. Amazon MGM Studios is producing; The Seven is handling planning and production, and Kadokawa Daiei Studio is the production company. The announcement does not yet supply a specific premiere day, episode count, complete cast or any exceptions to the stated global rollout.
Why this adaptation is a first
Hiwatari serialized the original manga in Hana to Yume from 1986 to 1994. Its story connects contemporary Tokyo teenagers through shared dreams of seven extraterrestrial scientists who once observed Earth from a lunar base, combining romance, reincarnation, psychic powers and unresolved trauma across two lives. The property previously received an original-video-animation adaptation, but Amazon describes the 2027 project as its first live-action version. The announcement arrives during the franchise's 40th anniversary, while its third sequel series, I Sing with the Earth, remains in serialization.
The creative test and what remains open
The live-action format has to distinguish present lives from remembered identities while making the lunar base and supernatural abilities feel like parts of one emotional drama. Amazon says The Seven will use visual-effects work for those elements, and Hiwatari says she is supervising through the script stage; that establishes creator involvement without promising control over the finished episodes. The next meaningful confirmations are the actors playing present-day Alice, Rin and the other memory-linked students, the episode structure, the exact release date and a trailer showing how the two timelines are represented.
