A literary adaptation establishes the model

The Takarajimasha Manga Project begins in the November 2026 issue of Liniere, on sale September 18, with Nao Emoto's manga adaptation of Michiko Aoyama's On Thursdays, Cocoa. The publisher plans the serialization through Liniere's October 2027 issue, giving the launch a defined twelve-issue shape rather than presenting it as an isolated guest chapter. Aoyama's linked-story novel moves between Tokyo and Sydney through people connected by a cup of cocoa; Emoto is known for manga including O Maidens in Your Savage Season and the adaptation of Josee, the Tiger and the Fish. Those credits explain why the first pairing matters without implying that the later projects will use the same format.

The project extends beyond one magazine

Takarajimasha says the editorial team behind Kono Manga ga Sugoi! will work with individual magazine staffs to shape manga around each publication's audience. GLOW is preparing a medical-beauty manga by Midori Mizutani for its December issue, while sweet plans a new story by Lunlun Yamamoto about the mysterious creature Fernando, also beginning with a December issue. A fourth title for Otona no Oshare Techo is named as part of the broader programme, but the announcement does not yet identify its creator or launch details. The available facts therefore establish an editorial pipeline, not a complete release slate.

Why a lifestyle-magazine route is notable

The initiative places new manga in magazines whose primary identity is fashion or lifestyle coverage, allowing each series to meet an established readership outside a conventional manga anthology. Kono Manga ga Sugoi! contributes recognizable manga-selection expertise, while the host magazines contribute a defined audience and editorial theme. That combination could create different routes for literary adaptation, health-focused nonfiction and whimsical fiction within one publishing group. The next meaningful evidence will be the finished GLOW and sweet debuts, confirmation of the Otona no Oshare Techo work, and any digital or collected editions that make the serials available beyond buyers of the print magazines.
