From removal notice to restored access
Ternox Games first said Sony had terminated its PlayStation developer and publisher agreement without giving the studio a reason. The developer warned that its existing games would be removed from the PlayStation Store after August 23 and that the planned PlayStation 5 version of its retro stock-market game STONKS-9800 would no longer proceed.
On August 20, Ternox posted a direct reversal: PlayStation had restored access to the developer account and allowed work to continue. The studio said its current games would remain available for purchase and that it intended to keep releasing games on PlayStation. GamesRadar reproduced both statements, preserving the sequence and the developer’s wording.
What the correction does and does not settle
The new statement removes the immediate access and delisting outcome described by the earlier notice. Players no longer have a developer-stated reason to expect Ternox’s catalogue to disappear after August 23, and the studio once again has a path to submit future releases. That is a material platform-access correction, not merely a change in tone.
It does not explain why the agreement was terminated or why access was restored. Sony has not supplied a public account in the accessible reporting, and Ternox does not provide a new PS5 release date for STONKS-9800. Continued development is therefore confirmed as the studio’s intention, while approval, certification and timing remain future steps.
Why the sequence matters beyond one game
Small developers depend on platform accounts for storefront access, updates and future releases. A sudden termination can affect both an unreleased project and games already owned or still on sale. The restoration averts those immediate effects for Ternox, but the absence of a stated process leaves other independent studios with little insight into how a similar dispute would be handled.
Fans should watch for a dated STONKS-9800 PS5 announcement and for the existing catalogue to remain continuously available. Either would demonstrate execution of the restored relationship; neither should be assumed solely from the developer’s welcome correction.
