Gerencia 360 sues Suno and Bright Data over alleged use of 444 registered regional Mexican works
Gerencia filed a federal complaint August 31 alleging direct infringement by Suno and contributory infringement by two Bright Data entities involving 444 registered works, plus Digital Millennium Copyright Act claims concerning 1,174 works. It alleges Spanish-language recordings and lyrics were taken from services including YouTube, Deezer and Genius for AI training. The pleaded damages arithmetic exceeds $165 million, but liability, scraping, authorization and damages are all unproven and no defendant answer was identified.
