The Transformers: The Movie returns to U.S. theaters in 4K from September 17 to 21

Hasbro and Fathom Entertainment scheduled a nationwide U.S. 4K theatrical return for the film's fortieth anniversary from Transformers Day, September 17, through September 21, 2026. Select international markets were expected to screen it at the same time, but participating cinemas, territory coverage and showtimes remain subject to local confirmation.

Fathom executive tells indie filmmakers to protect rights, theatrical windows and proven fan audiences

Marketing vice president Shannah Miller said in an August 27 interview that creators approaching distribution should understand which rights they surrender, who funds each commitment and how collaboration works. She described Fathom's model as one to three focused playdates supported by audience development and a protected theatrical window; the article says Fathom releases about 95 titles annually across more than 2,000 participating locations and reviews more than 3,000 projects.
