The Transformers: The Movie receives its first Japanese theatrical run at 30 cinemas from November 27

Anime! Anime! reported on September 14 that the Japanese-dubbed The Transformers: The Movie will open November 27 at 30 Lawson United Cinemas locations across Japan. The engagement is billed as the film's first Japanese theatrical screening and marks forty years since its U.S. release; Lawson United Cinemas distributes with cooperation from Takara Tomy and Hasbro. Its length, restoration specifications and any release outside Japan are not stated.

Satoshi Shiki and Manabu Yashiro draw the first coordinated Energon Universe manga variant covers for four December issues

Skybound, Image and Hasbro announced 1:50 incentive covers by manga artists Satoshi Shiki and Manabu Yashiro for M.A.S.K. #7, Transformers #39, G.I. Joe #29 and Void Rivals #37, scheduled weekly from December 2 through 23. The programme adds original cover art but does not create manga editions, change the interior creative teams or announce new rights.

Upper Deck licenses Transformers, Power Rangers, G.I. Joe and more Hasbro brands for new trading cards

Upper Deck announced on August 26 that the agreement covers Transformers, Power Rangers, G.I. Joe, M.A.S.K., Jem and other brands. A September Target-exclusive Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary box guarantees its base set and may contain Peter Cullen autographs; a later 100-card Fleer line adds IDW art, lenticular inserts and selected voice-actor signatures.
