Saros will add free Zenith boss rush, New Game Plus and slow-speed option later in 2026

The Zenith update's Overlord Rush chains campaign bosses and adds global competition. Eclipse Layers is a New Game Plus mode with modifiers, progression options and secrets, while a slow game-speed setting expands accessibility. Housemarque promises the package at no added cost later in 2026 but has not set an exact day.

Returnal studio co-founder Ilari Kuittinen leaves Housemarque after 31 years

In a public departure statement reproduced by Gematsu, Kuittinen said August 31 was his final day at Housemarque after 31 years there and 33 years in games. Former deputy managing director Sami Hakala took the managing-director role on July 1, with Kuittinen supporting the transition through August. Kuittinen plans a September break and may later mentor or consult.
