Australian independent cinemas seek A$45.725 million in federal support to replace ageing projectors
Its No Cinema Left Behind proposal estimates A$85.4 million in national renewal costs: about A$39.33 million from operators, A$45.725 million from the Commonwealth and A$345,000 from targeted state or local support. Research cited by Variety says 129 cinemas and 318 screens would need at least five years of modeled profit to self-fund replacement.
