Tung Tung Sahur lawsuit sets September hearing over rights in an AI-assisted character used by games
Spyder Games and Speedy Simulator Gaming seek declarations that Mementum's asserted rights are invalid, while Mementum counterclaims for trademark infringement and unfair competition. After amended claims and counterclaims on July 30, Mementum filed an August 19 dismissal motion. A federal hearing is scheduled September 23 in San Jose, California, with trial currently set for November 29, 2027. The parties disagree over human contribution, AI generation, ownership, licensing and jurisdiction; no court has resolved those issues.
