I Expect You To Die developer Schell Games cuts 10% of staff and pivots toward more small projects
CEO Jesse Schell told Good Virtual Reality that the studio cut 10% of its workforce on August 21, leaving about 125 employees in its first layoff in 24 years. He said the company is moving from fewer large titles toward more small projects; headset VR has fallen from about 80% to 30% of its work, though one unannounced VR title is in production and the studio is doing more location-based interactive work. A separate report identified marketing, art, design and visual-effects workers among roughly 14 people apparently affected.
