SoundCloud tests direct download sales with about 200 U.S. artists and no platform commission
SoundCloud launched a beta August 26 that lets about 200 U.S.-based Artist Pro creators with Fan Support enabled sell downloadable tracks from their profiles. Artists set prices, provide formats such as MP3 or WAV and track sales in Artist Studio; SoundCloud says it takes no commission, although payment fees and taxes still come out of proceeds. The company plans to widen the beta before reaching all eligible creators later in fall 2026, without a precise date or disclosed processor rates.
