Bruce Campbell says he is done playing Ash but will keep supporting Evil Dead
In a public statement dated August 20, Campbell said he is finished portraying Ash onscreen because his interests and physical capacity have changed. He separated that choice from his continuing interest in Evil Dead and did not announce an end to the franchise or his producing role.
