comico will close in January after ending new manga releases and purchases
NHN comico says the service will close January 6, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Japan time. New releases, rental updates, coin sales and registrations stop August 31, followed by sales and rentals on September 28; purchased manga is intended to transfer to Mecha Comic, with bookshelf-transfer and coin-refund applications planned from January 7 through April 30, 2027.
