Gamescom leaders say the 2026 show is fully booked but cannot solve the game industry's layoffs
Game association representative Stefan Heikhaus called layoffs a serious concern while saying exhibition space is full. Gamescom director Tim Endres said the indie and entertainment area has more exhibitors than before; both framed the convention as a venue for visibility and connections, not a remedy for structural problems.
