Filmmakers launch Gaza Cinema Academy at Venice to extend local training and production support
The initiative formally launched during the Venice Film Festival after beginning its first academy intake in March 2026 with 25 young Palestinian women. Its founders aim to combine education, production and professional links and are working toward a degree accredited by Al-Quds Open University. Current reporting does not establish permanent facilities, long-term funding, future cohort capacity or completed accreditation.
