AMC launches Leawood Films to distribute completed independent movies
AMC announced August 31 that Leawood Films will acquire theatrical rights to fully financed or completed small- and mid-budget films, promote them across AMC and other cinemas, and leave ownership and post-theatrical control with filmmakers. The label promises at least 45 days before premium video-on-demand and 90 days before streaming; it has not acquired a first film, and no release is expected before 2027.
