Udio answers Sony Music's 30,117-recording lawsuit with fair-use and innocent-infringement defenses
Udio's August 27 answer argues that any copying of protected expression was fair use and that, if infringement were proved, it could be innocent enough for statutory damages as low as $200 per infringed work. Udio admits obtaining some training audio from YouTube using YT-DLP, but does not admit training on Sony's identified set.
