The Uprising marketing invokes Robin Hood while its U.K. distributor says the Andrew Garfield film is not about him
TheWrap reported on August 26 that U.S. campaign posts and a Dolby poster use the line “Witness the Rise of Robin Hood,” while Focus Features says the revolt helped inspire the legend. Entertainment Film Distributors told Metro that the film is about the Peasants' Revolt, not Robin Hood, leaving Garfield's character and the reason for the conflicting language unresolved before the September 10 U.S. release.
