The trilogy now has a named endpoint
Square Enix announced Final Fantasy VII Revelation as the third and final entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, targeting spring 2027. FanBriefer did not cover the June 9 announcement, so this is explicitly a late recovery of a still-major future milestone rather than a claim that the title was revealed today.
The launch is planned for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC storefronts. That simultaneous platform-family list matters because earlier entries reached some audiences later. The announcement does not provide a day, regional unlock time, rating or final technical specifications.
What changes inside the game
Square Enix says the party will use an airship to explore a broader world, with Vincent and Cid becoming playable. Tactical Mode offers a more command-focused approach, while the new FITS equipment system is meant to expand party customization. These are owner-described features, not conclusions about their final depth or balance.
The title carries the responsibility of concluding the rewritten trilogy, but the announcement does not establish how closely its ending will follow the 1997 game or resolve the new continuity questions created by Remake and Rebirth. Those story outcomes cannot be inferred from a title and feature list.
Why the late recovery still matters
A spring window remains actionable months in advance for players choosing a platform or deciding whether to finish the first two games. The four-platform plan also changes the size of the audience that can join at launch instead of waiting for a later port.
The next decisive information is an exact date and a clearer account of save continuity, performance targets and platform differences. For now, the reliable state is substantial: the trilogy has a final title, a broad launch window, a wide platform plan and several named gameplay changes.
