Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft board game returns in standard and painted-miniature editions in February 2027

Renegade Game Studios plans a February 2027 return in partnership with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. Both editions preserve the classic gameplay, 42 miniatures, 13 adventures and solo-to-five-player range while updating art, logos and graphic design; the USD100 standard set is unpainted and the USD200 premium set supplies pre-painted miniatures.

D&D Beyond's September Drop adds the Duskling species and a customizable alternate Phandalin

September introduces the Feywild-linked Duskling, adapted from 3.5e's Magic of Incarnum, as Drops' first playable species, alongside new spells, monsters and maps. Five Drop-in Encounters become Storied Encounters with written adventure guidance, and the first Fantastic Location supplies a customizable version of starter town Phandalin. Wizards explicitly says this alternate town does not replace canon.

Dungeons & Dragons brings Dark Sun back in 2027 through two books and its first mature-rated fifth-edition setting

Wizards' July 30 roadmap announces Dark Sun: Blood and Power as a gameplay expansion and Dark Sun: Edge of Oblivion as an adventure expansion for 2027. A map pack, Dungeon Master's Screen and alternate-art limited Player's Handbook are also planned; the books arrive in English first, with French, Italian, German and Spanish editions later in 2027, but exact dates and prices remain open.

D&D Beyond says it is testing a reusable data-driven rules engine with live character data, developing DM Scene Prep notes attached to map pins, custom uploads and refreshed encounter tools, and replacing its planned Rules Assistant with semantic search.
