Toho opens a public vote to create a new Godzilla-universe monster
Toho opened the New Monster General Election on September 16 with eight candidate creatures designed by Shirogumi. Fans may cast one vote per person per day through October 4; the top four then advance to a second vote ending October 25, with the winner announced at Godzilla Fest on November 3. Toho plans to feature the winner in a new Fest Godzilla tokusatsu production from 2027 onward and develop merchandise, but may revise its name, design or setting before use.
