Warner says Lanterns episode three reached a series-high 10 million global viewers

TheWrap reported September 3 that episode three drew 10 million global viewers, including 7 million in the United States, during its first three days on HBO and HBO Max. Warner Bros. Discovery called that a series high; its comparable premiere figures were 9.3 million globally and 6.6 million in the US. These are internal company metrics, not independently audited ratings, and no renewal was announced.

Lanterns writer Vanessa Baden Kelly explains John Stewart's new television origin

In a spoiler-heavy August 30 interview, Baden Kelly said the writers created a new family history to explain John Stewart's fearlessness. Episode three reveals that Abin Sur's ring first tested John Stewart Sr.; after he admitted fear, the Guardians allowed Bernadette Stewart to condition her infant son John Jr. to be fearless. The origin applies to Lanterns, not DC comics generally.
