Live Nation keeps ownership of Belgian music festival Pukkelpop, but binding terms separate operations for at least ten years
The Belgian Competition Authority closed its proceeding September 11 after making Live Nation's commitments binding. Formal ownership remains with Live Nation, but the entire Pukkelpop operation and related assets must move to an organization controlled by founder Chokri Mahassine. That operator receives independent control over artists, booking, programming, ticket prices, suppliers, staff, venue, dates, capacity and staging for ten years, potentially fifteen. A monitoring trustee will supervise compliance. The closure is neither a finding of infringement nor an admission by Live Nation.
