Sony Pictures puts film, television, game-show and Crunchyroll licensing under Jamie Kampel

License Global, attributing the appointment to Deadline, reports that Sony named Kampel executive vice president and head of consumer products and licensing. She will coordinate licensing across Sony Pictures' film, television, game-show and Crunchyroll divisions, with the function moved to the corporate level under a common strategy and operating model. No new license, product calendar, financial target or staff reduction accompanied the reorganization.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day moves within an estimated US$1.4 million of the domestic record

The Associated Press estimated September 13 that Spider-Man: Brand New Day added US$8.4 million over the weekend, down 54%, and reached about US$935.2 million in the United States and Canada. Witch on the Holy Night anime film reaches Canada and the United States on January 29 after a January 27 French-language launch

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures announced on September 10 that the film's international theatrical rollout begins in January 2027 after its November 20 Japanese opening. France, Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland open January 27; Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, Poland, Sweden and India follow January 29. The international release uses Japanese audio with subtitles, with an English dub also offered in English-speaking markets. Streaming dates remain unannounced.

Tubi announced on August 26 that new Sony Pictures and NBCUniversal agreements will add more than 450 library films and television episodes across Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom over the next year. Named Canadian additions include Jurassic World, The Mummy and Ghostbusters (2016); Resident Evil (2002) is listed for Canada and the U.K. Exact arrival dates and the complete catalog for each country remain undisclosed.
