The Tetris Company told the Associated Press on September 4 that it was not involved in creating Build the Wall and did not authorize or license the Tetris brand or intellectual property for it. The rights company says it is reviewing the matter. No lawsuit, formal demand, named defendant or finding of infringement has been announced.

She says the rights holder required the crossover to remain nonviolent and beneficial, so released blocks clear lines to heal players and can act as protective cover. The Sunken Shores area also includes transformations that turn a player or nearby players into Tetriminos. Rogers did not disclose contract wording, fees, broader approval rights or a confirmed follow-up.
