REPORTED

DSTLRY is making its collected editions easier to buy

After delays and a publishing pause, DSTLRY co-founder Chip Mosher told comics retailers that the publisher is moving its main collected-edition line from hardcovers to $20 three-issue and $25 four-issue paperbacks. Hardcovers will continue for the direct market, while the company focuses on finishing delayed series before soliciting them.

SPECULATION

The direct market is still experimenting with how Wednesday works

Retailers and publishers continue to test release timing, preorder incentives, and event-style launches as shops balance weekly regulars with a growing number of first-time and returning readers. There is no single new model yet — only a lot of local adaptation.
