Tencent partnerships chief Nachuan Li says studio investments are judged over a decade, not one game

In a Gamescom interview published August 28, Li said Tencent looks for studios able to develop over roughly ten years, stays platform-agnostic and worries less about one product than a team's long-term vision. He cited invested studios Larian and FromSoftware as independent examples and described Tencent's early research and workflow support for S-Game's move from mobile action RPGs to premium console-and-PC game Phantom Blade Zero. Li said Tencent's internal “evergreen” benchmark exceeds US$500 million in average annual gross revenue, with separate engagement measures for live-service games.
